ZDNet the online content division of Ziff-Davis, launched Fluid News, an advertising-driven news and information program that "pushes" content outside the Web site and directly onto a user's desktop. While incorporating push technologies, Fluid News does not require a Web browser but only a click on an icon for users to gain access to news feeds, facts, trivia and advertising. Microsoft holds sponsorship rights for June, with an option to renew, after which other advertisers can become involved in sponsorship.
The application, which ZDNet calls an "advertising-driven show," delivers news feeds, trivia and Microsoft commercials.
