Zenith, Aegis reported to be in merger talks

Published on .

LONDON -- Media groups Zenith Media Worldwide and Aegis, owner of the Carat network, are reported to be in early stage talks about a merger of their operations.

U.K. press reports suggest that the flotation on the stock market of Zenith at the end of last year has given the two groups added impetus to discuss a combine to which Carat would bring its greater strength in Europe and Zenith its bigger presence in Asia and North America.

Neither John Perriss, chairman and chief executive of Zenith Media Worldwide, nor Crispin Davis, chief executive of Aegis, returned calls by press time.
