Former Zenith Media
U.K. CEO Christine Walker settled a dispute with Zenith parent Cordiant, clearing the way for her to open Walker Media, London, a new media-buying agency 50%-owned by Ms. Walker and 50%-owned by the M&C Saatchi agency. Ms. Walker, one of the best-known women media executives in the U.K. ad community, agreed not to solicit business from an undisclosed list of Zenith clients before next Oct. 25. She also agreed not to recruit key Zenith executives for her new agency for the same period. For its part, Zenith agreed on a list of clients and ex-clients that will not be covered by any restrictions. Ms. Walker, who quit Zenith in October 1996 had already served a one-year waiting period before returning to the ad business under terms of her separation agreement with Cordiant.
