Zeus triumphs in struggle for $17m Greek ad account

Published on .

ATHENS -- The Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) has awarded its $17m above- the-line advertising account to three ad agencies -- Olympic DDB, BBDO and Adel/Saatchi & Saatchi -- who have joined together in an alliance called Zeus, named after the king of the gods in Greek mythology.

Two other alliances pitched for the account: McCann-Erickson, Sense Integrated and Action and a team consisting of Geo/Young & Rubicam and Project. Leo Burnett pitched for the account on its own.

The slogan of the new ad campaign, which will run in 22 countries, is "Greece: The authentic story."
