Ziff-Davis shifts senior execs

Former Esquire Publishing Director Lawrence C. Burstein was promoted at Ziff-Davis Publishing Co. to president of its Consumer Media Group, responsible for all Ziff-Davis consumer-oriented magazines and their related Web sites in the U.S. Mr. Burstein joined Ziff-Davis from Esquire last June as senior VP-consumer advertising. He succeeds Scott Briggs, who founded the Consumer Media Group in 1993; Mr. Briggs will be a consultant to Z-D after 22 years with the company.

In other moves: Z-D named Jack Dolce exec VP of its Business Media group, responsible for ZD Internet Magazine and Inter@ctive Week. Mr. Dolce remains president-CEO of Inter@ctive Enterprises, the company partnered with Ziff-Davis to publish Inter@ctive Week. Dan Rosensweig was named the first president of ZDNet, Cambridge, Mass, the Ziff-Davis Web site, from exec VP of the company's Internet Publishing Group.
