Agency Salaries Mixed in 2003

Pay for agency staffers held relatively steady in 2003, according to AdAge's 2003 Advertising Industry Salary Survey. Raises will average five to six percent for 2004, compared with four percent for the previous two years. 25 percent of agencies won't give raises, however -- the same as in the last two years -- and 56 percent won't be issuing bonuses, down slightly from 58 percent in 2002. Here are the average base salaries for four creative department positions, based on the survey of 215 U.S. agencies:
