Florida on Film

The Miami and Florida production communities have joined together to create an online sitcom to promote filming in the Sunshine State. The series, titled Outside the Box, follows the adventures of an overbearing creative director, a harried producer and a timid art director as they shoot a commercial in Florida. In the first three episodes, available online at www.FloridaShorts.com, the fussy CD demands creative perfection from an airline pilot, a taxi driver and a waiter. The shorts also serve to showcase various Miami locations, including Brickell Avenue, the Biltmore Hotel, South Beach and the Rickenbacker Causeway. Conceived by Miami production company Mia Next and shot by Mia Films director Massimo Martinotti, the project is sponsored by the Greater Miami Convention and Vistor's Bureau, Film Florida, AICP Florida and the Miami-Dade Mayor's Office of Film & Entertainment.
