Adele Bernstein dies; wife of former publisher

Adele Bernstein, widow of former Advertising Age Publisher and Editor Sidney R. Bernstein, died Jan. 18 in Chicago. She was 94.

Mrs. Bernstein often attended Ad Age events and was known to many on the newspaper's staff as well as at parent Crain Communications Inc. "She was not only married to my father, she was married to the business-especially while he was editor and publisher of Advertising Age," said her son, Henry R. Bernstein.

Sid Bernstein, who also served as chairman of the executive committee of Crain Communications, died in 1993. In addition to her son, Mrs. Bernstein is survived by her son-in-law, Charles Wingis, and three grandchildren.
