John Sarsen to Held Post Since 1994

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- John J. Sarsen Jr., president-CEO of the Association of National Advertisers since 1994, today announced plans to retire effective Jan. 3.

ANA Chairman James D. Speros said a replacement will be announced later this month.

Mr. Sarsen, 61, joined ANA after posts at General Foods, PepsiCo, Canada Dry Corp., Grand Union Corp. and Chase Manhattan Bank, and had been active in a number of ANA efforts including its renegotiations of terms of contracts with various talent unions.
