Owens vice president of sales and marketing, a newly created post that reports to President August A. Busch IV.

Marketing divisions
Mr. Owens, an Anheuser-Busch veteran since 1981, adds responsibility for all marketing divisions to his current U.S. sales role as vice president of retail marketing. He has held a variety of management posts, including brand marketing for Budweiser, geographic and entertainment marketing, sports marketing and other operational and sales positions.

He will join the marketer's strategy committee and remain on the Anheuser-Busch management committee.

Also joining the St. Louis-based brewing giant's strategy committee are Robert C. Lachky, vice president of brand management and director of global brand creative, and Anthony T. Ponturo, vice president of global media and sports marketing.

Messrs. Lachky and Ponturo now will report to Mr. Owens, except Mr. Lachky will continue to report directly to Mr. Busch on all creative strategy and development, according to a spokeswoman. She said that the strategy committee, now comprising 16 executives, runs the entire company.
