Ms. Bacci Mirque joined the ANA as a senior VP in December, 2000, to manage special projects, including what was then known as the Family Friendly Programming Forum, an organization formed to promote the creation of TV programming appropriate for the entire family, often through leveraging advertiser support for script development, content creation and young writing talent. Among the programs the group helped bring to the TV screen were "Gilmore Girls," "Everybody Hates Chris" and "Friday Night Lights." Most recently, the group had been working on efforts to develop appropriate content for digital channels.

Prior to her arrival at the ANA, Ms. Bacci Mirque worked as a product manager and brand marketer at companies including Frito-Lay, Nestle Foods, Avon, Weight Watchers and Carvel Corporation.

Early in her career, she served on the staff of Senator S.I. Hayakawa. Ms. Bacci Mirque held an M.B.A. from New York University's Graduate School of Business Administration and a bachelor's degree in international politics from Georgetown University.

She is survived by husband Randall Mirque of Pearl River, N.Y.; parents Julius E. and Joy (Cerreta) Bacci of Avon, Conn.; two stepsons, Jason and Drew Mirque; brothers Edward W. Bacci of Avon, Conn. and Richard R. Bacci and his wife Michelle; and nephew Michael A. Bacci, of Old Lyme, Conn.

"Barbara's limitless energy and passion for the mission of the Alliance was truly a motivator for all of us who had the privilege to work with her," said Pat Gentile, a Procter & Gamble executive who worked with Ms. Bacci Mirque as part of the Alliance for Family Entertainment. "She was a resilient leader and her commitment to pursue opportunities that were right for our mission was an inspiration to us all."

The ANA Alliance will be hosting a remembrance celebratory cocktail reception for Ms. Bacci Mirque on April 8.
