DEUTSCH HIRES TWO EXECS FOR DIRECT MARKETING UNIT

Claudia Steinhaus, Paula Fedoris Take Posts at directDeutsch

CHICAGO (AdAge.com) -- Interpublic Group of Cos.' directDeutsch, New York, hired two vice presidents.

The direct marketing division of Deutsch named Claudia Steinhaus, 42, to the position of senior vice president, group account director, responsible for developing direct marketing strategies for Pfizer's Zyrtec brand.

Ms. Steinhaus, previously an independent consultant, worked prior to that as senior vice president, group management director, at Interpublic's Foote, Cone & Belding Direct, New York and San Francisco.

Deutsch also named Paula Fedoris, 38, to vice president of data strategy, to handle all directDeutsch clients. Ms. Fedoris was previously vice president of customer information management at Goldman, Sachs & Co.

On Thursday, Deutsch laid off approximately 27 people -- or 3% of its 900-person staff -- across all disciplines in its New York and Los Angeles offices.
