Val DiFebo to Retain Title of Managing Partner

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Interpublic Group of Cos.' Deutsch, New York, named a general manager, filling a postion that has been vacant since June 2001.

Val DiFebo, who has been with Deutsch for 11 years, is the first general manager since Linda Sawyer became the agency's chief operating officer. Ms. DiFebo has been managing partner and director of client services; she retains the title of managing partner.

New hire
Ms. DiFebo will now spend more time on managing Deutsch's integrated offering. She said she may be hiring to replace herself.

"I may be looking for a client service director and a director of account management. I may look for someone who can do both," said Ms. DiFebo, who added she was only looking internally to fill these positions.

In her new role, Ms. DiFebo will strengthen relationships will all clients, including some of the bigger accounts, such as Bank of America, Novartis and Revlon.
