"In true Deutsch fashion, you are often doing the job before you get the official title -- Mike's already demonstrated his leadership capabilities," said Deutsch CEO Linda Sawyer in a statement.
Mr. Duda will continue to work on corporate business development and will now focus on shaping agency capabilities and offerings, growth initiatives and acquisition plans as well as developing Deutsch's global presence.
"While many bemoan the challenges the agency industry faces," Mr. Duda said, "we believe that this is an opportunistic time to add much more value to clients. I look forward to expanding my role on the Deutsch brand, product and impact within client businesses."
One of Mr. Duda's first projects under his new title will be the building up of MWWGroup@Deutsch, a just-announced strategic partnership leveraging the best practices and communications capabilities of each of the Interpublic properties.
"MWW is clearly the 'Deutsch' of the PR space and we are excited about how MWWGroup@Deutsch will allow both parties to engage with client target audiences more uniquely than other competitive offerings," said Mr. Duda in his announcement of the joint venture today.
