CHICAGO (AdAge.com) -- The executive vice president and managing director of the Burger King account at DraftWorldwide is HEADING to crosstown rival Frankel as executive vice president and director of client services, a Frankel spokeswoman confirmed.

Mike Buczkowski was a onetime senior executive on the McDonald's Corp. business at Coca-Cola Co. and then at Simon Cyrksimon Worldwide in early 2001 before leaving to head the Burger King account at Draftworldwide, an Interpublic Group of Cos. agency.

Dick Thomas, president-CEO of Publicis Groupe's Frankel, declined to comment. Mr. Buczkowski did not return calls.

In his new post, Mr. Buczkowski will not assume responsibility for the Golden Arches but will be in charge of other businesses, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which is now the agency's largest client, agency executives said. He will succeed Eric Rosenthal, who remains senior vice president and account director on the CDC.

Frankel has been trying to rebound from steep cutbacks and restructuring last year. In recent weeks, the promotional agency has picked up a new assignment as promotional agency of record for Diageo's Cuervo.
