Finbarr O'Neill, formerly president-CEO of Hyundai Motor America, is assembling his own management team at the troubled automaker.

Greg O'Neill arrived at Mitsubishi in 1997 as director of its North Central region. He had worked at GM Canada with Mitsubishi's former chief operating officer, Pierre Gagnon, who resigned in August.

Mr. O'Neill, in a prepared statement, said he would announce his new role outside Mitsubishi at year's end. A spokeswoman at the Cypress, Calif.-based automaker said Mr. O'Neill wasn't available to comment.
