Steve Blamer to Remain at Current Post

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Steve Blamer, the president of Grey Worldwide, who had been courted by Foote, Cone & Belding Worldwide for a position within that network, is remaining at Grey.

of Grey parent Grey Global Group, and Mr. Blamer issued a statement Thursday evening saying Mr. Blamer has no plans to leave the agency.

In an e-mail message sent to Grey employees Thursday by Mr. Meyer and Mr. Blamer, the executives wrote "we are committed" to building and continuing to grow the agency.

Neither executive would comment further on the matter.

Last month AdAge.com reported that FCB, part of the Interpublic Group of Cos., were trying to lure Mr. Blamer to the network. According to executives familiar with the situation, the position involved running the New York office as well as overseeing North American operations.
