Kim Kosak is moving from director of advertising and sales promotion at GM's Cadillac brand to general director of advertising and sales promotion at Chevrolet. The move marks her return to Chevrolet, where she had been assistant brand manager for marketing on the Silverado pickup until her move to Cadillac four years ago. The shift is effective immediately
Before the change, GM veterans Mac Whisner, truck advertising manager, and Jim Jandasek, car advertising manager, handled Chevrolet. Both men will report to Ms. Kosak, who was part of the team credited with elevating Cadillac's advertising during the brand's recent new-product push to attract younger buyers and regain its luxury luster.
A Chevrolet spokesman told AdAge.com that the brand was "looking for ways to improve advertising and merchandising" to support its nine vehicle launches in the next 20 months. Interpublic Group of Cos.' Campbell-Ewald, Warren, Mich., has the advertising account for Chevrolet.
Ms. Kosak's successor at Cadillac is Christopher Hamer, director of marketing communications at GM's OnStar unit. He had been in that job since arriving at GM in July 2001 from Priceline.com, where he was vice president for online strategy.
