Steve Blamer Was President Grey, New York

By Published on .

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Grey Global Group today promoted Steve Blamer to the new post of president-CEO of Grey Worldwide, North America.

Mr. Blamer, 47, had been president of Grey Worldwide's flagship New York office since 2000. With the promotion, Mr. Blamer is now responsible for all Grey Worldwide offices in the U.S. and Canada.

Today's move was widely expected after Mr. Blamer was wooed in September by rival holding company Interpublic Group of Cos. to take a senior leadership post at its Foote, Cone & Belding Worldwide network. That recruitment attempt was unsuccessful; for various reasons, Mr. Blamer remained at Grey.
