interim president-CEO, replacing Finnbar O'Neill, who left the compnay to take the same postition at Mitsubishi Motors North America.

Mr. Cosmai, who had been vice president of national sales, joined the automaker in fall 1998. A 30-year industry veteran, Mr. Cosmai's sales and management experience includes stints at several other automakers.

Hyundai Motor America, a division of Hyundai Motor Corp., is based in Fountain Valley, Calif.

Independent ad agency Richards Group, Dallas, won Hyundai's estimated $160 million creative account in May 2002.
