Jim Bell Leaves for Position at Media Partnership

NEW YORK ( -- Jim Bell, president and chief operating officer of One-to-One Marketing, a unit of Interpublic Group of Cos.' Initiative Media, has resigned, according to executives with knowledge of the move.

A spokeswoman at Initiative confirmed Mr. Bell's departure and said he tendered his resignation in the last week of September but stayed on at the agency for an extra two weeks.

Mr. Bell, in the meantime, has taken a position with Media Partnership, Norwalk, Conn. Executives at the independent media shop declined to comment. Mr. Bell, 54, did not return phone calls at press time.

One-to-One is a collection of media research, consulting and interactive acquisitions, such as IM Futures and FastBridge. Mr. Bell was promoted to manage the group from his previous position as Initiative's managing director of the Eastern region in April 2001. In June of that year, he oversaw the consolidation of Initiative's $300 million print services in New York.

The Initiative spokeswoman said a replacement for Mr. Bell is not planned.
