Jeffrey Cole has joined MediaLink as a senior adviser. While providing counsel for the strategic advisory and business development firm, Mr. Cole will continue his duties as research professor and director of the Center for the Digital Future at the USC Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism. He also founded and directs the World Internet Project, a longitudinal look at the effects of computer and internet technology conducted in over 25 countries.
James W. Price II was elevated to president of Empower MediaMarketing. Mr. Price previously served as VP-media innovation, a division he created in 2006. A 10-year veteran of Empower, he previously held roles with ABC Radio, Beyond Interactive and the Bush-Cheney '04 Campaign.
DraftFCB, Chicago, has tapped Patrick Moorhead as VP-director of mobile platforms. In his new role, he will lead mobile initiatives for the Chicago agency, and provide leadership for mobile efforts across DrafFCB's North American network. Mr. Moorhead was previously director-emerging media at Razorfish. Prior to joining Razorfish in 2005, Mr. Moorhead was the founder and president of Burroughs/Moorhead Design, a design-services company in Philadelphia.
Marketing and social-media platform SheSpeaks has hired Josh McKay as senior VP-strategic development. Mr. McKay will manage SheSpeaks' financial operations and sales functions, as well as relationships with investors and growth strategies, and will be based in the company's New York headquarters. Mr. McKay most recently held the position of senior VP in the growth ventures group at Citi.
Rob Gelick has been promoted to senior VP and general manager of CBS Mobile. Mr. Gelick joined CBS Interactive in 2008 and most recently served as VP-CBS Mobile. Prior to CBS, he was one of 10 founding executives at Helio, where he served as the VP-data services. In that role, Mr. Gelick developed and managed a portfolio of mobile social-networking and media services including the industry's first MySpace mobile service and first complete YouTube mobile offering.
Beth Lawrence has been named exec VP-advertising sales and media solutions for the Weather Channel Companies. Ms. Lawrence was previously VP-sales at Yahoo, where she led a team focused on agency development. Prior to joining Yahoo in 2003, Ms. Lawrence held a series of positions with AOL Time Warner, where she managed the health initiative and WebMD partnership as VP-sales, and with DoubleClick, where she was the general manager of the Brand Network.
Nancy Berger Cardone was appointed VP-publisher of Marie. Ms. Cardone, who spent eight years as VP-publisher of Allure, was most recently VP-publisher of Gourmet magazine. During her time at Gourmet, she launched an entertainment social-networking site called GourmetGuestList.com, served as the executive producer for PBS TV series "Gourmet's Adventures With Ruth," and created a branded travel-agency extension to the magazine.
Vicky Gregorian has joined Litton Entertainment as senior VP-domestic syndication. Ms. Gregorian spent more than 10 years as the head of the syndication division of New Line Cinema. She most recently served as exec VP-national sales manager at Program Partners Inc. and as executive consultant for Trifecta Entertainment and Media. Litton Entertainment is an independent distributor that has created and distributed programs for TV such as "Jack Hanna's Animal Adventures," "Storm Stories," and "Nascar Angels."
