Scanzoni to Oversee TV Buying

By Published on .

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Former MediaVest Worldwide executive Rino Scanzoni is expected to take over the top TV buying job at WPP Group's Media Edge, New York, according to industry executives.

He'll replace the retiring Bob Igiel, president of the broadcast division. Mr. Scanzoni will start in January, when his contract with MediaVest is said to expire.

Irwin Gotlieb, chairman-CEO of MindShare -- a WPP sister shop -- worked with Mr. Scanzoni at MediaVest and was said to be involved in the negotiations to bring Mr. Scanzoni to Media Edge.

Media Edge executives declined comment. Calls to Mr. Scanzoni were not returned.

Staff writers David Goetzl and Richard Linnett contributed to this report.
