DraftFCB Names Victor Ruvolo Senior VP-Group Media Director

DraftFCB, New York, has hired marketing communications veteran Victor Ruvolo as senior VP-group media director, and he will assume responsibility for several corporate initiatives for the agency's Merck business. Prior to DraftFCB, Mr. Ruvolo worked at J3/ Universal McCann, where he served as senior VP-managing director on accounts including Johnson & Johnson.

BET Networks executive Essie Chambers has been appointed senior VP-original programming for Centric, the network's 24-hour entertainment channel. Additionally, Depelsha McGruder has joined as senior VP-business operations for Centric. Ms. Chambers joined BET earlier this year as senior VP-programming. Before that, she had been VP-Nickelodeon Original Movies since September 2008. Ms. McGruder was most recently acting general manager of MTV Tr3s, a television network targeting bilingual, bicultural U.S. Latino youth, which she helped launch in 2006. She also served as senior VP-business operations and strategy for MTV.

Amy Cronin, Dawn Price and Jeff Clare have been named senior VPs at Campbell-Ewald. Ms. Cronin was promoted from VP-associate director data analytics at the company to senior VP-associate director data analytics. Dawn Price was appointed senior VP-manager financial analysis. She was previously a senior financial analyst at Campbell-Ewald. Mr. Clare was named senior VP-associate director strategic analytics. He comes to Campbell-Ewald from DraftFCB, New York, where he was responsible for campaign management for United Health Care.

Reader's Digest Association has promoted Maureen Polo from managing director-integrated sales and marketing for U.S. Affinities to VP-integrated sales and marketing, U.S. Affinities. Ms. Polo joined Reader's Digest in 2007. Previously she worked at Condé Nast Media Group, where she managed more than $55 million in annual print and digital-media spending. Prior to her position at Condé Nast, she held sales-development positions at Domino and Self magazine.

Mercury Media has added Chris Conderino and Mitchel G. Bader to its executive roster. Ms. Conderino, a media specialist who has launched three full-service media departments within creative agency shops and two direct-response media companies -- including TBS Direct and Zenith Direct -- has been named exec VP-planning and corporate direct response, where she will lead the agency's new corporate DR specialty practice. Mr. Bader has been named exec VP-finance and operations. He was most recently partner in the financial leadership practice at executive services firm Tatum.

Mixpo, an online video-advertising technology company, has hired Adam Kapel as senior VP-sales and marketing. Previously, Mr. Kapel served as a senior director at Microsoft Advertising, packaging and promoting the company's offerings. He arrived at Microsoft through its acquisition of aQuantive, where he was VP-sales and marketing for Atlas.

Van Wagner Communications has elevated John Massoni to president-Western Division. Mr. Massoni has been an employee of Van Wagner since graduating college in 1992. Serving initially as sports field technician, he has held positions of increasing responsibility at the company, including president-CEO of the Van Wagner Sports Group, president of Van Wagner Aerial Media and exec VP-Van Wagner Communications, a position he has held for the past two years.
