Woman to Watch
Ms. Wayne, 38, was recently named one of Advertising Age's "Women to Watch" for her work at Burnett. She was promoted at Burnett in February after helping win an extensive assignment for Gap Inc. to help the retailer better target customers for its Gap, Old Navy and Banana Republic brands.
Old Navy has been looking to fill the vice president for marketing position since February 2002, when Tom Clendenin left the company after only nine months. A consultant, Michael McAdden, had been working with the company since that time.
A spokeswoman for Gap would not confirm the decision to hire Ms. Wayne, saying the company had "not made any announcement." Leo Burnett declined to comment.
