Nicholas Lehman has joined NBC Universal in a newly created position as president of digital for NBC Universal's entertainment and digital networks and integrated media division. Mr. Lehman will oversee digital businesses including iVillage, DailyCandy, Swirl and Fandango, and will also be closely aligned with the leaders of each of the TV brands' online platforms. Most recently, Mr. Lehman was the CEO of Plum TV, where he revamped the lifestyle network's programming slate and developed and executed a new multiplatform strategy. Prior to that, he was chief operating officer of IAC Programming, where he managed IAC's entertainment and media businesses, such as CollegeHumor and Very Short List, and launched new brands including The Daily Beast. Mr. Lehman spent the bulk of his career at MTV Networks. As exec VP-digital strategy and operations, he built and ran MTVN's centralized digital operations group.
PHD U.S. has named Craig Atkinson to the newly created role of president and chief digital officer, effective April 1. Mr. Atkinson joins PHD from parent company Omnicom Media Group, having previously led McDonald's U.S. business at OMD. Mr. Atkinson joined OMD in 2006 as digital director and took on the role of overall group account director on the McDonald's business in 2008. He has also held key roles at Modem Media, Digitas and Arc Worldwide. Meanwhile, OMD has named Midwest Digital Director Michael Solomon as the new managing director for the McDonald's business.
Darryl T. Gehly has been promoted to president of Aegis' Isobar U.S. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Gehly was interim managing director and chief client officer for the creative and communications agency, working as part of a team that integrated three agencies into one larger Isobar U.S. brand. Before that, he was head of business development at Aegis Media North America, helping drive new levels of engagement with consumers for clients such as Adidas, Nikon and Reebok. Mr. Gehly started his career within the Aegis Media Group family as a member of the founding leadership team at Molecular, which was acquired by Aegis Media in 2005 and recently integrated into Isobar U.S.
Reprise Media has appointed John Anagnost president, U.S. Mr. Anagnost comes to Reprise Media from Bloomberg LP, where he was head of audience marketing for Bloomberg.com and Businessweek.com. Previously, he was global director-search marketing services at Neo@Ogilvy. Mr. Anagnost will work closely with data and analytics and research resources to help develop new digital tools and processes focused on understanding consumer intent. As part of the Mediabrands Ventures collective, he will assist in the creation of new services and enhancements to current resources within Reprise Media.
Allison Clarke has been promoted from VP to senior VP-national advertising sales, eastern region, for WE tv and Wedding Central. Prior to joining WE tv in 2008, Ms. Clarke held numerous positions at NBC Universal, most recently as advertising sales director for Bravo Media. Earlier in her career, she worked at MTV Networks.
Fotoulla Euripidou has joined Hearst as VP-director of consumer research. Ms. Euripidou comes to Hearst after spending eight years at Rodale, where she most recently served as VP-consumer insights. Prior to that, she was director of marketing research at Gemstar/TV Guide and a senior project director for media brand research at Total Research Corporation/Harris Interactive.
Online audience targeting company [x+1] has promoted Leon Zemel to chief analytics officer and Greg Pier to senior VP-platform implementation and production support. Mr. Zemel, formerly of Digitas, had been exec VP-analytics. Mr. Pier, formerly of Doubleclick, was most recently VP-product management.
