Cincinnati and Geneva
Mr. Glock, 45, who was previously director of media for Europe and Asia and direct-to-consumer marketing for Europe, will continue in those roles as well, but will split time between P&G's global headquarters in Cincinnati and European headquarters in Geneva.
He'll report both to P&G Global Marketing Officer Jim Stengel and R. Kerry Clark, vice chairman and president-global market development and business operations.
Working with agencies
P&G traditionally does media planning and buying on a strictly local-country basis, and media executives in its regional market development organizations, including Mr. Glock in Europe and Asia, will continue to oversee those functions. But in his new role, Mr. Glock also will help develop global media and communications strategies and work with media companies and agencies on a global basis.
Publicis Groupe, primarily through Starcom Mediavest Group, handles P&G media buying and planning in about two thirds of the world, including the U.S., while Grey Global Group's MediaCom handles P&G media in the other third.
