NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- The publisher of newspaper supplement Parade magazine today was named president of Meredith Corp.'s magazine group.

Jack Griffin, who was also publisher and president of Parade Publications, part of Advance Publications, replaces Jerry Kaplan, who will retire at the end of the year.

Mr. Griffin, 42, will report to Steve Lacy, president of Meredith's publishing group. Mr. Kaplan, 56, will remain with the company until the end of the year as the publishing group's executive vice president.

Return to Meredith
The move marks a return to Meredith for Mr. Griffin, who previously served in executive posts in its broadcasting and publishing divisions, most notably as vice president of marketing for its broadcast division and general manager of the company's integrated marketing and custom publishing arm.

Randy Siegel, 41, executive vice president and associate publisher of Parade, will succeed Mr. Griffin as publisher only.
