Alloy Digital has appointed Eric Danetz exec VP-sales. Mr. Danetz was previously senior VP-sales at Newsweek Daily Beast. He has also held executive roles at CBS Interactive, CNET, Ziff Davis, International Data Group and Businessweek. Mr. Danez began his career as a media professional at DDB Needham Worldwide, where he planned the strategies for several prominent technology and consumer companies.
Wade Davis has been promoted to chief financial officer of Viacom Inc. He previously served as Viacom's exec VP-strategy and corporate development, and succeeds Jimmy Barge in the role. Before joining Viacom in Dec. 2005 as senior VP-mergers and acquisitions, Mr. Davis was an investment banker in the technology and media sectors for more than a decade. He has also been active in the reform of public education and co-founded AdvancePath Academics, which operates technology-based centers to recover and educate high-school dropouts.
Mindshare veteran and regional client leader Amrita Randhawa has been appointed president of Mindshare China. Prior to taking on this new role, which is based in Shanghai, Ms. Randhawa had overseen regional and global client relationships including Nestlé, PepsiCo, Yum and L'Oréal on both a Mindshare and WPP level. The move is a homecoming for Ms. Randhawa, as she was previously based in the agency's Beijing office when she managed Nestlé's Greater China business for over three years. Additionally, Linda Lin, currently VP-Mindshare China, will become the agency's new chief operating officer, and Karl Cluck, currently chief strategy officer for China, will become the chief strategy officer for Mindshare, North Asia. His remit will expand to include Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong in addition to his current responsibilities in China.
StrawberryFrog has appointed former BBH India creative chief Raj Kamble as the managing partner for its newly opened India operation, headquartered in Mumbai. Prior to BBH India, Raj Kamble was at BBDO WorldWide, New York, as senior VP on its global P&G and Gillette business. He has worked in Mumbai, London and New York and has picked up awards including Clios, Cannes, D&AD and One Show prizes during his career. Before joining BBDO, he was at Lowe Worldwide for 11 years.
Ben Coulson has been promoted to chief creative officer of Y&R Australia/New Zealand, a new position. Mr. Coulson had been serving as executive creative director of GPY&R Melbourne for four years and was just named one of the top five creative directors in the world in the 2012 Cannes Report. GPY&R Melbourne was the most-awarded Australian agency at Cannes, with its Mobile Medic campaign on behalf of the Australian Defense Force awarded four times.
Meredith Xcelerated Marketing has named Justin Prough as executive creative director for its Genex business unit. In this new role, Mr. Prough will be responsible for overseeing creative development for Genex's broad portfolio of digital clients. His background includes serving as creative director with agencies such as TBWAChiatDay, Tequila, and Ignited, where he guided the creative strategy for brands ranging from Nissan to Activision to Levi's to Logitech.
