Mark Pavia has joined Starcom USA as exec VP-digital managing director. He comes to the agency's Chicago office from his previous role as senior VP-director of innovation at The Martin Agency in Virginia. At Martin since 2001, he led the rebranding of the shop's media arm as Ingenuity Media Group, creating planning systems, supporting new business growth and evolving the internal media department into a standalone full-service agency for both Martin AOR clients and media-only clients. Prior to that , Mr. Pavia spent time at marchFIRST as a managing senior consultant, Four Points Digital as the director of media services for Sears, Allstate and 3Com, and at FCB as a group director on Coors, Kimberly-Clark and Cadbury Beverages.
Olivia Scott-Perkins has been appointed chief marketing officer of Carol's Daughter, the natural hair and skin-care brand, as it launches more products to appeal to a broader audience and introduces "Spokesbeauties" Solange Knowles, Selita Ebanks and Cassie. Ms. Scott-Perkins is a 16-year advertising and marketing communications leader who has held positions at Leo Burnett, Translation, Ogilvy Action, Frankel, DDB, DraftFCB, Atlantic Records, iN DEMAND Television, Live Nation, VIBE Media Group and Omerge Alliances.
Mark Dillon has been named senior VP-national sales at QuadrantONE, the joint venture of Gannett Company, Hearst Corporation, The New York Times Company and Tribune. Mr. Dillon was previously at United Online, where he was responsible for the advertising sales of Classmates, NetZero and Juno. He also co-founded audience platform Adcurate and opened the Chicago and Detroit offices for Advertising.com as VP-sales, Central Region prior to the company's acquisition by AOL. Mr. Dillon started his career with NBC Television, working in several sales and marketing roles in New York and Chicago.
Nick Valls, a 25-year Univision vet, has been promoted from senior VP-Partnership Marketing Group to senior VP-network sales at Univision Communications. He will serve as the lead for Hispanic agencies as well as for the Miami Network Sales office, which handles Texas and Florida accounts. Additionally, former Galavision VP-sales David Grossman has been named VP-integrated property development and cable network sales at Univision, Jeff Browning has been elevated to the newly created role of senior VP-sales for Univision News and Mark Dante has been promoted from senior VP of Univision's Client Development Group to exec VP-station group sales for the Univision Television Group.
Publicis Modem has tapped Brian Skahan as chief technology officer. Mr. Skahan comes to Publicis from CP&B, Boulder, Colo., where he was VP-creative technology director. In that role, he led development teams for American Express, Microsoft, Dominos, Guitar Hero, Jose Cuervo and Vail Resorts. Mr. Skahan built the agency's first international development team and created and implemented its development standards and best-practices training program. Prior to CP&B, Mr. Skahan was chief technology officer at Digital Pulp in New York.
Believe Entertainment Group has added Aimee Duell as exec VP-brand engagement and strategy, and Joseph Grimes as chief financial officer. Ms. Duell most recently served as U.S. Director of Drum @ PHD, a virtual studio within the Omnicom media. Before that , she led branded entertainment initiatives for Pepsi at Green Room Entertainment, a strategic business unit within OMD. She also oversaw branded entertainment for a decade at Sony PlayStation. Mr. Grimes comes to Believe from MTV and VH1, where he was senior VP-finance.
