Houston: Jess Bullock (l. photo, at l.), president of J. Bullock & Co., Birmingham, Ala., accepted the Sid Bernstein Memorial Communications Award from Advertising Age columnist Bob Garfield on behalf of the Birmingham Advertising Club, one of five clubs so honored at the American Advertising Federation National Conference here. The award, recognizing outstanding communications programs, is named for the late editor of Ad Age. Kristen Fish, sales rep at the Grand Forks (N. Dak.) Herald, representing the Valley Advertising & Marketing Ad Federation, took home one of five G.D. Crain Awards for best ad club public service campaigns.
