Khurrum Malik has joined eXelate as the new chief marketing officer of online ad data and analytics provider. He will be responsible for global corporate and product marketing for eXelate's industry-leading smart data solutions. Mr. Malik brings more than 17 years of experience in analytics, mobile, and software industries. Previously, he served in leadership roles at Accenture and Microsoft. He also served as VP-marketing for comScore. He received his MBA from the Darden School of Business and his MS and BA from the University of Virginia.
Julie Bornstein was recently promoted to chief marketing and digital officer of Sephora Americas. For the past five years, Ms. Bornstein has served as Sephora's senior VP-digital and a member of the company's operating committee. In her new role, she will assume responsibility for brand and store marketing, public relations and creative. Prior to joining Sephora, Ms. Bornstein served as the general manager of Urban Outfitters Direct, where she led the growth of the web and catalog division into a highly productive direct business. She sits on the board of directors of TheFind.com and Stitchfix. She has her BA and MBA from Harvard University.
JiWire added mobile and advertising industry veterans Greg Archibald and Todd Rose to its executive team. Mr. Archibald, senior VP-sales, and Mr. Rose, senior VP-business and corporate development, bring their mobile, digital, and advertising-industry expertise to the company. Mr. Archibald brings 16 years of digital media and advertising success to JiWire. He had previously served as general manager and vice president of strategic client partnerships at Datalogix. In addition to that he spent more than six years at Yahoo in numerous executive sales and management positions. Mr. Rose will be instrumental in scaling and optimizing the company's premium mobile and Wi-Fi publisher network. Before joining JiWire, Mr. Rose was VP- business development for YP and held leadership roles with Ingenio.
Wendy Demarco and Gerri Thomas were promoted to new roles with the Big Brother Big Sisters of NYC organization. Ms. Demarco has been promoted to chief marketing officer and Ms. Thomas has been promoted to director of communications. As CMO, Ms. Demarco will oversee all aspects of marketing for BBBS of NYC and will manage relationships with all creative vendors that work with the agency, including advertising, media, public relations, web design and creation. She had previously served as co-founder and VP-communications at Hip Venture Company. She was also the president of Spin Advisors Public Relations. Ms. Thomas had previously served as adjunct professor, English instructor and tutor for the English department and of Office of Instructional Support at the City University of New York, College of Staten Island.
