NEW YORK (AdAge.com) --Jim Davey, former senior VP-global marketing, planning and retail development at Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products, has joined outdoor footwear, apparel and accessories marketer Timberland Co. as VP-global marketing. Charged with developing global marketing assets and programs to drive the Timberland brand, he will oversee the Stratham, N.H.-based company's worldwide marketing strategy.
Mr. Davey, whose past experience includes -- in addition to his eight years at Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products -- a role as global brand director at Polaroid and various marketing positions at Lego, replaces Carol Yang, who is leaving to pursue other opportunities.
"I am very pleased to have such a creative and accomplished marketer joining us as we continue the passionate pursuit of making Timberland the most famous outdoor brand on earth," Timberland Chief Brand Officer Mike Harrison said in a statement. "I'm excited to add Jim's talent and experience to our organization and look forward to his ideas for taking our brand even further."
Timberland products are sold in department and specialty stores as well as Timberland retail stores throughout North America, Europe, Asia, Latin America, South Africa and the Middle East.
