Mr. O'Keefe's appointment to the top creative spot at the agency confirms rumors that began when he returned to Chicago from FCB's San Francisco office, where he was also executive creative director.
Jonathan Harries, FCB's worldwide creative director, had been managing the Chicago department and is expected to soon name a replacement for Mr. O'Keefe in San Francisco so he can concentrate on his global duties.
"What I like best about
"Coming back to Chicago, my first reaction is, 'I forgot how hard these guys work.' I see the talent and accounts we have here and can't wait to jump in," Mr. O’Keefe said.
Mr. O'Keefe, 39, has spent most of his career with FCB, joining the agency in 1990 as a copywriter on the Adolph Coors Brewing Co. and Cadbury Schweppes's A&W Root Beer accounts. FCB is part of the Interpublic Group of Cos.
