Seth Matlins was appointed global chief marketing officer of Live Nation. His role is to increase concert attendance by leveraging his experience with global brands to build marketing and media partnerships. Mr. Matlins previously held a similar role at Creative Artists Agency.
Rodale promoted Mary Murcko from VP-publisher of Women's Health to senior VP-publisher of Prevention. Jack Essig was elevated to senior VP-publisher of Men's Health and will also serve as publisher of Women's Health. Ms. Murcko led Women's Health to 12% growth in ad pages in 2008, when the print industry overall was down 12%, earning the brand the No. 2 position on Ad Age's A-List last year. Under Mr. Essig's leadership, Men's Health has also flourished, consistently finishing in the top three in market share.
Lifetime Networks named Jane Rice senior VP-affiliate sales. Most recently, she was VP-field sales for Disney and ESPN Media Networks, where she developed local sales strategies for the eastern United States and managed distribution efforts for related new-media content, including HDTV, broadband and video on demand. Ms. Rice was previously director-affiliate sales and marketing for TechTV.
Jeff Jensen was elevated from president-sales and marketing to CEO of the Hanger Network. Before joining the in-home marketing network in July 2008, Mr. Jensen helped build AdSpace Networks into a leader for place-based video signage. Before that, he was senior VP-sales for the SmartSource iGroup, a division of News Corp., where he established the SmartSource Savings Network as the nation's leading provider of online promotions for consumer package goods.
Relay Worldwide, the sponsorship-consulting and experiential-marketing company of Publicis Groupe, has promoted Matt Pensinger to senior VP-marketing services and consulting. Mr. Pensinger joined Relay in 2005 to lead its sponsorship consulting practice and since then has built and directed client programs with Sharp Electronics, the NCAA, Washington Mutual Bank, Kellogg, Toyota and Discover Financial Services. Before that, he spent seven years at General Motors, where he guided marketing-alliance programs and managed GM's product-placement program for film and TV.
In-game-advertising company Double Fusion hired game-industry veteran Monika Madrid as VP-business development. She previously served as senior director-business development at LiveGamer, and before that ran the North American licensing and strategic-sales businesses at Ubisoft.
CBS Interactive tapped Jennifer Vescio as VP-business development. Ms. Vescio was previously managing director of the Yahoo Publisher Network, where she led the monetization strategy and business-development efforts associated with Yahoo's display- and search-advertising business.
