UNILEVER NAMES TOP U.S. MARKETING EXECUTIVE

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Unilever, Greenwich, Conn., today named Randy Quinn as senior vice president of brand development for its North American Home and Personal Care unit, the top U.S. marketing and product development post for the $4.5 billion-a-year business.

Mr. Quinn, 45, who was formerly general manager of Unilever's $1.6 billion skin-care business in North America, succeeds Gene Zeffren, a 22-year veteran of the company, who is retiring.

In his new post, Mr. Quinn, who since 1995 has risen from marketing director in Unilever's Lever Brothers unit to his current post, will oversee marketing for such brands as Dove, Suave, Ponds, Thermasilk, Mentadent and Finesse.

Bill Littlefield, 44, succeeds Mr. Quinn as head of the skin-care business. He was formerly marketing director for hair care at Chesebrough-Ponds, where he helped spearhead Unilever's 1998 launch of Thermasilk.
