CHICAGO (AdAge.com) -- J.G. Sandom is leaving his post as vice chairman of RappDigital, the digital-marketing arm of Omnicom Group's Rapp Collins Worldwide, New York, confirmed Rapp's Chairman-CEO Malcolm Speed.
Mr. Sandom, who founded RappDigital, assumed the role of vice chairman in October when John Anderson, previously executive vice president of the agency, was promoted to general manager.

Mr. Sandom, who is leaving to pursue other opportunities, will continue to work with RappDigital on a consulting basis, Mr. Speed said.
"J. was looking for more freedom and flexibility than he had in this position," Mr. Speed said. "We agreed he would leave Rapp Collins as a full-time employee and be available to us on a strategic-support basis moving forward."
The vice chairman post will not be filled, as Mr. Sandom will continue to assist RappDigital in the areas of strategy and services development, Mr. Speed said.
Mr. Anderson will continue to run RappDigital, which includes RappDigital Consulting, e-mail marketing company Innovyx and online consumer-research specialist Recipio.
CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story incorrectly reported that Mr. Anderson's oversight of RappDigital would include Critical Mass. Critical Mass is not part of RappDigital. It is 50% owned by Omnicom and is a "strategic equity partner" with Rapp Collins.
