NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Walgreen's Thursday named a new top marketing executive, replacing Jeffrey A. Rein, who was named the drug retail chain's president on Wednesday.
George J. Riedl, currently
vice president of purchasing, will move into the new post of senior vice president of marketing in January when Mr. Rein, 50, takes over his new duties. Mr. Rein, whose title had been executive vice president of marketing, replaces the drug chain's president-CEO, David W. Bernauer, who becomes chairman.
Craig Sinclair, 48, vice president of advertising, continues handling day-to-day advertising activities, a Walgreen's spokesman said.
Walgreen's advertising is handled by Euro RSCG Tatham Partners, Chicago.
