Bob Walker has been named exec VP-marketing and cross-platform development for the Weather Channel Companies. Mr. Walker had served as the president and general manager of Atlanta's WXIA-TV since 1996 and assumed responsibility for WATL-TV in 2006 after Gannett acquired the station. Prior to that role, he was VP of broadcast and held various sales, marketing and research roles in his nearly 22-year career with Gannett.
Universal Partnerships & Licensing has promoted Stephanie Testa to senior VP-corporate alliances. Ms. Testa will oversee the development of global brand alliances across Universal's various divisions, including motion pictures, home entertainment, staged productions and theme parks. She will also be responsible for the strategic relationship management of partners including American Express, Cartier, Coca-Cola and Fidelity Investments. Before joining UP&L, Ms. Testa served as VP-partnership development for Universal Parks & Resorts. She began her career with Universal in 1998 as a brand manager in Universal Parks & Resorts at Universal Orlando.
Robert J. Pietsch has become regional VP-Western region sales for MySpace. In his new role, he will be responsible for overseeing the growth in sales, client acquisitions, and productivity of the company's West Coast ad sales division as well as managing strategic relationships with brands including Toyota, Microsoft and Hewlett Packard. Prior to joining MySpace, Mr. Pietsch served as chief digital advertising officer for Forbes Media, responsible for leading the company's product-sales strategy as well as newly developed accountability and measurement tools on Forbes.com. He was also group advertising director for Forbes.com, during which time he was responsible for all advertising accounts in the United States and Asia Pacific regions.
Hollywood.com has hired Eileen Mulloy as senior VP-sales and marketing, charged with managing the sales and marketing teams for the family of Hollywood.com sites, including Spill.com and fan sites. Ms. Mulloy most recently served as the publisher of Conde Nast's Epicurious. She also drove the revenues of Conde Nast's Digital Lifestyle sites, including Concierge and Style.com, as well as magazine websites such as VanityFair.com, Glamour.com, Allure.com, Bon Appetit.com and Luckymag.com.
Edward Parker has joined StoreBoard Media as senior VP. Mr. Parker will head the indoor-billboard network's new office in Minneapolis and will be responsible for supporting retail initiatives and helping to expand its network. Mr. Parker comes to StoreBoard from Supervalu, where he was director of sales and marketing for the company's Store Design Services division. Earlier, he was senior VP at MediZine, a New York-based health-care media company.
Mercury Media has tapped three executives to head its new office in Philadelphia: Maria Eden and Cary Scottoline join as senior VPs, and Gina Pomponi comes onboard as VP-media at the direct-response media agency. Ms. Eden and Ms. Scottoline have worked together in the direct-response industry for many years, co-founding a direct-response marketing agency in 1990, where Ms. Eden served as president and Ms. Scottoline was exec VP. Both also held executive positions with National Liberty Marketing. Ms. Pomponi brings over 17 years of specialized experience in DRTV, including 19 years working beside Ms. Eden and Ms. Scottoline at their prior agency.
Moxie Interactive has appointed Lane Soelberg to senior VP-business development and Los Angeles client services, and Christine Bensen to senior VP-participant insights. Prior to joining the interactive marketing agency, Mr. Soelberg was CEO and president for COOP Ventures, where he led digital strategies for brands including WolframAlpha, Mazda and MyHollywood. Ms.Bensen comes to Moxie from TBWA/Chiat/Day, where she most recently was director of digital strategy and analytics, developing market plans for clients including Pepsi, Gatorade, Visa and Energizer.
