CHICAGO (AdAge.com) -- WPP Group's Y&R Advertising, Chicago, elevated Mark Figliulo to managing partner, an additional role to his current position as executive vice president and chief creative officer.

Mr. Figliulo will act as a partner to CEO Kary McIlwain, adding more daily responsibilities in managing the agency as well as the creative department.

Under Mr. Figliulo's leadership, the agency has won numerous creative awards and was one of the nation's top 10 creative agencies, as ranked by Advertising Age's sibling publication Creativity.

He joined the agency in November 1999 from Dark Light Pictures, Chicago, where he was a director. Mr. Figliulo earlier was a vice president and creative director at Bcom3 Group's Leo Burnett, Chicago.
