Mr. Patti, who was most recently vice chairman and senior executive creative director of Omnicom Group's BBDO Worldwide, New York, will also serve as worldwide creative director. Both roles are effective March 1.
As head of the agency's flagship office, Mr. Patti succeeds Ron Bess, who had been chairman-CEO since 2001, and also Jim Ferguson, president and chief creative officer. Mr. Bess moves to a new job as vice chairman, integration and business development, at Y&R parent Young & Rubicam. Mr. Ferguson becomes executive creative director for Y&R North America.
Mr. Patti, who worked at BBDO for 18 years, is the creative force behind numerous memorable advertising campaigns, including Pepsi spots featuring actor Michael J. Fox, actress/singer Madonna and, more recently, pop star Britney Spears.
