Penny Baldwin Takes Over for Outgoing Austin McGhie

SAN FRANCISCO (AdAge.com) -- Penny Baldwin, formerly president of Havas Advertising's Arnold Worldwide, San Francisco, today was named president-CEO of WPP Group's Y&R San Francisco.

Ms. Baldwin, 43, takes over from Austin McGhie, who announced his resignation Oct. 25.

who starts Dec. 3, had a long career in advertising in the Bay Area, starting in direct marketing at WPP's Ogilvy & Mather and at shops including Interpublic Group of Cos.' McCann Erickson, where she was senior vice president and director of communications planning.

At Y&R San Francisco, she takes over an office with billings reported at $160 million and clients including Chevron and VeriSign.

Mr. McGhie, 45, who has been with the agency for five years, had said he hopes to move into a job in technology marketing.
