Zipatoni Loses a Top Creative to Crosstown Rival

Jon Maurice Heads to St. Louis-Based Drive Agency

CHICAGO (AdAge.com) -- St. Louis boutique Drive Agency has swiped a top creative from a larger local rival.

Jon Maurice, who had been executive creative director at crosstown rival and Interpublic Group of Cos. property Zipatoni, is now senior partner at Drive. Mr. Maurice's Zipatoni resume includes work on brands including Nokia, Levi's, Energizer, eBay and Sony PlayStation.

"The opportunity to join this strong creative shop with a burgeoning client list is what attracted me to Drive," said Mr. Maurice. "I look forward to help grow this agency into a nationally known creative house where ideas, creativity and an entrepreneurial spirit are its core."

Roster includes A-B
Drive's client roster includes Houlihan's Restaurants and Anheuser-Busch. The agency estimates it's won about $2 million in new billings since early 2006, with wins including Houlihan's, the National Academy of Beauty and Landscape Brands.

"I am very pleased that Jon has decided to join our team," said Drive's owner, George Pace, a former top executive at St. Louis' D'Arcy, Masius, Benton & Bowles agency. "He brings with him over 15 years of incredible experience working with world-class brands, and I believe he will continue to push this agency to new levels."

A Zipatoni spokeswoman didn't immediately return a phone inquiry regarding who would replace Mr. Maurice.
