APPNET BUYING SPREE ADDS SIGMA6 INTERACTIVE MEDIA

AppNet, a Bethesda, Md.-based electronic commerce service provider, acquired Web agency Sigma6 Interactive Media, Detroit. Price was not disclosed. Sigma6, whose clients include General Motors Corp. and Delphi Automotive, is one of many Internet companies AppNet has acquired recently. They include: i33 Communications, New York; Research & Planning, Cambridge, Mass.; and Logex, Falls Church, Va. Sigma6 will be a division of AppNet.

Dorman leaves PointCast; Koen named successor

PointCast, Sunnyvale, Calif., last week named Phil Koen, chief operating officer-exec VP, its president-CEO. He succeeds David Dorman, 45, who resigned but will remain chairman of the board. Mr. Dorman becomes CEO April 1 of a $10 billion joint AT&T Corp. and BT venture launching this year, pending regulatory approval.
