EDS shopping for interactive agency
Electronic Data Systems Corp. recently approached interactive agency Knowledge Strategies, New York, with a buyout offer, but was turned down, said an executive close to Knowledge Strategies. An EDS spokesman declined comment.
Dallas-based systems integrator EDS opened interactive division c2o Interactive Architects in 1997, and has amassed many business-to-business accounts. Knowledge Strategies has done work for Bloomingdale's, Horny Toad Activewear, Jacques Moret and DesignerOutlet.com.
ISP signs $35 million deal with Ericsson
Y-Pay, a new free Internet service provider based in Atlanta, signed an agreement to use Ericsson's Internet Advertiser service. The deal is worth up to $35 million over five years. In August, Y-Pay plans to launch its free Internet access and e-mail service, which users will receive in exchange for ads delivered to their desktops. Internet Advertiser uses BackWeb push technology to send users targeted multimedia ads.
