Sources say agent technology company Firefly is looking for a new president to beef up its management team. Firefly, a fast-growing company that develops personalization software for advertisers, reportedly wants to add a new president and chief operating officer to complement the existing management team, headed up by founder, President and CEO Nick Grouf. Mr. Grouf is expected to give up the president title and remain as chairman and CEO. Firefly declined to comment.
CMP launches Custom Content Network
CMP Media Inc. last week launched Custom Content Network, which will create individual- and multi-sponsor Web sites for advertisers. Editorial content on the custom sites will be targeted at users interested in specific issues. The first site, Breaking the Speed of Light (www.techweb.com/speed), is sponsored by Rockwell International and features high-speed modem news. Other sites in the works are two mobile computing sites sponsored by Fujitsu Computer Products of America and an intranet site with multiple sponsors.
CBS SportsLine to anchor AOL Sports
CBS SportsLine will become the first anchor tenant on AOL Sports Channel, the sports section of America Online. Under the agreement AOL members will be able to access SportsLine's Web site through a continuous sponsorship on the main page of AOL Sports Channel, and CBS SportsLine will integrate certain parts of its sports coverage, such as the Winter Olympics and NCAA basketball, exclusively with AOL's Grandstand area of the site.
BonusMail rewards e-mail recipients
Direct response company Intellipost Corp. last week launched BonusMail, a system that rewards consumers for responding to targeted e-mail promotions. Using BonusMail, members receive credits they can cash in for prizes like CDs and frequent-flier miles. The Gap, United Airlines, Tower Records and Spiegel are some of the site's initial sponsors. So far, it has signed up 50,000 users.
