Forbes' Digital Tool (www.forbes.com) launches today with more than $1 million in advertising commitments from sponsors including BMW of North America, Fidelity Investments and Intel Corp. The site will showcase digital publishing tools and will offer original content that's updated daily.
Internet access provider EarthLink Network won a lawsuit filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court preventing Cyber Promotions, a bulk e-mailer, from sending its messages through EarthLink's system. Also, CompuServe and Cyber Promotions have signed a consent agreement that prohibits Cyber Promotions and any of its customers from sending any unsolicited e-mail to CompuServe subscribers.
Four11 Corp. will soon provide access to the Internet yellow pages of Nynex, U S West, Ameritech, BellSouth, Pacific Bell and SBC Communications from its Web site (www.four11.com). Four11's telephone and e-mail directories will also be incorporated into each RBOC's online directory.
