L'eggs Products in April launches a monthlong promotion for Sheer Energy hosiery. The "Positive Energy Month" effort will include contests, sampling and a tie-in with local women's charities. The centerpiece will be a tour of the L'eggs Sheer Energy Positive Energy Task Force, experts who will conduct seminars on achieving positive energy and wellness; tour stops will be coordinated with local retailers. L'eggs PR agency Lippe Taylor, New York, handles. Its ad agency, DDB Needham Worldwide, is doing radio and print ads using the "Positive Energy" theme.

Todd Hunter Importers' Cruzan rum and Coco Lopez mixer are sponsoring the 11th annual "National Homemade Bikini Contest," offering bars and nightclubs throughout the world the opportunity to host local competitions. The rules call for homemade swimsuits made of anything but cloth; previous contestants have modeled creations crafted from jelly beans, spoons, dog biscuits and crime scene tape. ConAgra's Healthy Choice announced what it claims is the first-ever promotion within the package-goods industry to offer free airline miles to consumers in exchange for product purchases. The "Free Miles" promotion offers a certificate for 500 miles for every 10 proofs-of-purchase from Healthy Choice products. Participating airlines include American, Delta, Northwest, Trans World, United and USAir. The promotion is backed by in-store signage, on-pack information plus in-pack mail-in certificates and a national free-standing newspaper insert April 25. Canandaigua Wine Co. launched promotions at seven spring break resorts for Arbor Mist. Promotions at Florida beaches as well as ski and late-night venues in Arizona, Colorado and Texas include a Far Too Jones concert sponsorship. Richard
