Sharper Image, San Francisco, today names Meredith Medland to the new post of director of global Internet marketing. Ms. Medland, previously national sales evangelist-interactive media at Chicago Tribune Co., will try to boost Sharper's electronic commerce revenue through a multimillion-dollar marketing and promotional campaign launching soon.

NETGRAVITY EXPANDS

Ad-serving company NetGravity today expands its AdCenter outsourcing service to Europe and Asia, aiming it at new-media publishers, e-commerce merchants, advertisers and agencies. AdCenter provides ad serving, targeting, tracking and reporting.

ENGAGE ADDS 30 CLIENTS

Engage Technologies, which makes software to help marketers target online ad campaigns, today announces 30 new customers will be using its Accipiter AdManager service. They include ImproveNet, LookSmart, NBC Multimedia and Planet Direct. Engage said with the new clients and renewals by current clients, AdManager software now serves more than 8 billion impressions a month.

ANCESTRY.COM FINDS AGENCY

Ancestry.com today names Cone Interactive, New York, its agency of record. Cone will create online and offline marketing campaigns for Ancestry.com and its site MyFamily.com. Ancestry.com is a source of genealogy data while MyFamily.com is a free Web service for families to post news and photos.
