OK, we'll pay to see your linen closet. They really know how to fold towels at McKinney & Silver, Raleigh, N.C., where a new campaign for Fieldcrest Royal Velvet is more fun than stealing hotel washcloths. In an effort to compete with fashion designers who are bombarding the interior decorating arena, the print work aims to make the Royal Velvet line "livelier and more approachable; an inexpensive way to redecorate," explains co-creative director/copywriter Naomi Maloney. Other ads feature a bouquet of towels, paint cans housing towels and towels resembling a billiards set. Additional credits to co-CD/art director Steve Davis and photographer Greg Slater.

It's so psychedelic, we do all our grilling now in elephant bells. Clarity Coverdale Fury, Minneapolis, has a spot for Johnsonville Foods that's so cheap it didn't even require a director, but it nevertheless has the stopping power of a hit of bad acid. Cutouts, nothing but cutouts, sometimes alternating with stroboscopic intensity over cheesy Pop Artless backgrounds, are employed to note the strange and haunting similarities between a pigskin and a bratwurst. Themed, "Grill on," the campy :30, one element of a regional multimedia campaign, aims to keep football fans grilling through the colder seasons. "Human nature being what it is, people stop at Labor Day," explains creative director Jac Coverdale. Additional agency credits to writer Kelly Trewartha and producer Jenee Schmidt. Edited by Charlie Schwartz at Fisher Edit; music by Echo Boys.

Too bad it's not a Mets tie-in, we could've done without the really fat one. Leagas Delaney, San Francisco, has out-Niked Nike in the making-fond-fun-of-fandom sweepstakes with a hilarious new TV/print campaign for Adidas and the New York Yankees. Running through the playoffs on local sports networks and area movie screens, four b&w :30s, directed by Jonathan David at Shelter Films, trace the journey of the Yankees' "most hard-core, super-duper fans," explains art director Peter Nicholson. "We're embracing the fans here," adds writer Scott Wild, and there's quite a bit to embrace, as five shirtless idiots paint their chests to create one massive breathing YANKS banner. Additional agency credits to CDs Harry Cocciolo and Sean Ehringer, exec producer Adrienne Cummins and producer Ben Latimer. Editing by Bob Spector at Bob 'n Sheila's Edit World, San Francisco; music by David Shapiro, Shapiro Music, Boston.
